Become a Certified Sustainable Landscaper

BY STEVEN JAY PORUS, LANDSMAGAZINE

Diminishing resources and client demands have made Sustainable Landscapes extremely important. HortiGenomic’s Certified Sustainable Landscapers Program offers a valuable certification that is a must for anyone working in the Green Industry. Membership is not required. In addition to general landscape professionals, the program offers special certification for turf, tree care, and irrigation specialists. Many LandConference sessions will offer opportunities to earn CSLUs (Certified Sustainable Landscape Units) towards certification.  Visit www.CertifiedSustainableLandscaper.com for certification requirement along with approved online educational opportunities from LandsExpo and SportsTurf Managers Association that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

LandsConference 2006 will premier HortiGenomic’s Certified Sustainable Landscapers Program. Eleven of the thirteen sessions offered at LandsConference are approved for certification. This continuing education program features live sessions with prominent speakers from both private industry and education/government institutions. Recycled Rubber Mulch and Recycled Garden Glass

Close the Loop, LLC

Playground Rubber Mulch is more economical than wood mulch, the key advantage:  Rubber mulch doesn't decompose.  According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, rubber playground cover has been proven to have superior shock absorbing capability, and can help reduce injuries associated with falls from playground equipment.

Recycled Garden Glass can be used for Decorative Landscaping, Fish Ponds, Container Gardens and more! The proprietary production process produces glass that has virtually no sharp edges.  We also offer tumbled glass at an additional charge if a rounded and sandblasted look is desired.  Add a bit of sparkle to your landscaping!
